The part-time Research Assistant-1 will provide administrative and coordination support for a colorectal carcinogenesis patient recruitment program, including scheduling, patient communication, regulatory documentation, data entry, and study record management.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule patient recruitment activities between the clinical and research teams
  • Communicate with patients to confirm appointments and provide study-related information as directed by the research nurse or coordinator
  • Maintain logs of enrolled and pending patients; track recruitment metrics and report progress to the PI
  • Assist with preparation, routing, and filing of IRB forms, consent documents, and other regulatory materials
  • Support data entry and maintenance of patient information in databases (e.g., Excel, REDCap, Workday)
  • Manage correspondence, including email, phone, and document distribution related to the study
  • Process reimbursements, invoices, and travel arrangements for research activities when needed
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for study documentation

Skills

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of administrative or research coordination experience, preferably in a healthcare or academic research setting
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with patient-facing communication
  • Hands-on lab experience
