The part-time Research Assistant-1 will provide administrative and coordination support for a colorectal carcinogenesis patient recruitment program, including scheduling, patient communication, regulatory documentation, data entry, and study record management.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule patient recruitment activities between the clinical and research teams
Communicate with patients to confirm appointments and provide study-related information as directed by the research nurse or coordinator
Maintain logs of enrolled and pending patients; track recruitment metrics and report progress to the PI
Assist with preparation, routing, and filing of IRB forms, consent documents, and other regulatory materials
Support data entry and maintenance of patient information in databases (e.g., Excel, REDCap, Workday)
Manage correspondence, including email, phone, and document distribution related to the study
Process reimbursements, invoices, and travel arrangements for research activities when needed
Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for study documentation
Skills
Minimum of 1–2 years of administrative or research coordination experience, preferably in a healthcare or academic research setting
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Experience with patient-facing communication
Hands-on lab experience
