About The Role


This position will consult with teachers who have students with visual impairments as well as work directly with a caseload of students, county wide, to help them access the general education curriculum within their districts.


Qualifications Desired


  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate, with an endorsement in visual impairment pursuant to R 340.1799b-OR
  • Possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate, and be actively working towards an endorsement in visual impairments AND possess one of the following three requirements:
  • Masters Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, not less than 2 years of which include special education
  • MDE teacher consultant approval
  • Interpersonal skills which promote positive personal relationships with students, parents, staff and community is required
