Our client, a global leader in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Principal Reservoir Engineer to join their innovative team in San Jose, California, US . This senior-level position will play a critical role in optimizing oil and gas production from existing fields and evaluating new exploration opportunities. You will leverage advanced simulation techniques and in-depth geological understanding to develop and implement effective reservoir management strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional technical expertise and the ability to lead complex projects.

Key responsibilities include:Developing and managing detailed reservoir simulation models to predict performance and optimize recovery strategies. Analyzing well test data, production history, and geological information to characterize reservoirs. Evaluating and recommending enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques. Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior reservoir engineers. Collaborating with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to define development plans. Performing economic evaluations and risk assessments for new projects and existing field developments. Staying current with the latest technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering. Authoring technical reports and presenting findings to stakeholders. Contributing to the company's strategic subsurface planning. Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field, with a minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, preferably within the upstream oil and gas industry. Demonstrated expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE) and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with unconventional reservoirs and advanced recovery methods is highly desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills are required.
