Our client is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic upstream operations team. This role is fundamental to maximizing hydrocarbon recovery from oil and gas reservoirs through effective reservoir characterization, performance analysis, and development planning. You will be responsible for analyzing geological and engineering data, building and calibrating reservoir simulation models, and forecasting production performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, extensive experience with reservoir simulation software, and a proven track record in reservoir management and development. Key responsibilities include evaluating undeveloped acreage, identifying opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and developing optimal field development strategies. You will collaborate closely with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to ensure integrated asset development. This role requires the ability to conduct economic evaluations of reservoir development projects and make informed recommendations for capital investment. A Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is required. A Master's degree is a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with a focus on E&P operations, is essential. Proficiency with industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel RE, Eclipse, CMG) and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are mandatory. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are required. The position is based at our **San Jose, California, US** location. You will contribute significantly to optimizing our client's reservoir performance and maximizing asset value.
