<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>As a Java Engineer in the Tech Delivery Team, you’ll work on developing and maintaining the core services responsible for card and PayTo payment authorisation and processing. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team focused on scalability, security, and performance.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications.</p></li><li><p>Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.</p></li><li><p>Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality.</p></li><li><p>Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing software.</p></li><li><p>Work on improving performance, scalability, and reliability of our client's services.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.</p></li><li><p>Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies and best practices.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Min 5 years of professional experience in backend development with Java.</p></li><li><p>Experience building distributed systems and working on high-throughput backend services.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.</p></li><li><p>Solid knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems.</p></li><li><p>Experience with message brokers (Kafka, EventBridge, etc.) is a plus.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., BuildKite, etc).</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with AWS.</p></li><li><p>Strong problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work collaboratively in a team.</p></li></ul><p><em><strong>ZigZag is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
