This role provides leadership and oversight for the celebrity relations function, including managing, mentoring, and developing a team responsible for talent engagement and coordination. The Director serves as an adviser and thought partner to publications, channels, and other key stakeholders on booking appropriate talent that drives member engagement and interest.</span></p><p style="margin: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"> </p><p style="margin: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt;">The role is accountable for setting priorities, ensuring consistent execution, quality, and alignment with AARP’s editorial and content strategies. Additionally, the Director fosters cross-functional collaboration, promotes a high-performance culture, and ensures team members are equipped with the tools, resources, and feedback needed to succeed while advancing organizational objectives.</span></p> <br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><br><ul><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Advise internal stakeholders on talent and entertainment trends by monitoring celebrity activity, film, television and other projects throughout the entertainment industry to suggest timely and appropriate celebrities/projects for coverage and usage on AARP’s platforms and related projects.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Identify and book talent for magazine covers, feature articles, organizational events, and manage all aspects of each project, in-person, virtual and asynchronous. Coordinate all celebrity outreach throughout AARP to capture celebrity reach outs, avoid duplication, and maximize usage across content, channels and departments.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Provide additional celebrity/entertainment content ideas for online, magazine, and AARP Studio editors, while working closely with them to ensure the best art and editing as each project unfolds, and create, review and provide content and/or edit notes for final product.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">Minimum 8+ years of experience working directly with celebrities, publicists, talent agents, or in talent relations within media, entertainment, or a nonprofit environment.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">Proven knowledge of the entertainment industry, including trends in film, television, streaming, and celebrity culture, with the ability to assess and recommend talent that aligns with brand identity and goals; Keen sense of discretion and professionalism in working with high-profile individuals and handling sensitive or confidential information.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">Proven experience booking and coordinating talent for editorial, event, and multimedia projects, including securing contracts and managing logistics (travel, scheduling, permissions, etc.).</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Demonstrated people management experience, including leading, coaching, developing staff, and overseeing performance and outcomes.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to maintain and grow a network of industry contacts, including publicists, agents, managers, and talent.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">Creative editorial sensibility with experience contributing to content development and understanding of storytelling, audience engagement, and editorial production timelines.</span></li><li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;
